MétrUp  (the name stands for "Metro Updater") is a tool that connects to our free update service and downloads the latest versions of your Métro  program & city files. You select which cities you want to update (select only one if your connection to the internet is slow) and the programs check if a new version is available. When it finds one, it downloads the file to your device and automatically update the city. If you already have the latest release, no transfer occurs.

Note: the program is updated only if it is in main memory, the city files are updated in main memory or on an external card.

MétrUp  is available only for the PalmOS devices (from Palm, Handera, Sony, ...). Its features are included in the PocketPC version of Métro . It's entirely free to download and to use.

To use MétrUp , you need the following components on your device:

• PalmOS version 3.0 or above.
• An internet connection ON YOUR DEVICE (through a cell phone or a modem). In some cases (NOT with all devices) it is possible to use your desktop computer connection, but I can't help for the required settings.
• Métro  installed with at least one of its city databases

• Download the MétrUp  package (click on the link to download)
• Unzip the package with your favourite dezipper
• Install the file "metrup.prc" on your device (with the Palm installer or whatever)

When you launch the update (with the button in the lower left corner), your device tries to establish a connection to the server through the internet.

For those who pay their internet connection by the traffic, you should be aware that for each city requested, MétrUp  sends about 400 bytes and receives about 600 bytes, plus the size of the file if it's actually updated, over the net.
